Week 26
4:36 AMHello, Europe! Daniel and I are currently making our way up the Danube from Budapest, Hungary to Vilshofen, Germany and what an AMAZING way to spend the final week of my second trimester. It’s hard to believe we’re so close to the end already, when half the time it feels like I was only going through IVF yesterday and the other half feels like I’ve been pregnant forever.
It’s hard to put this whole week into one quick blog, especially considering how many excursions and visits off the boat we’ve been taking. The best way to sum it up is that the world outside for Frankie is just as different as the one inside is for her. She has been incredibly active, even responsive this week. Physical changes are happening again as I get even bigger and she runs out of room. All I’m thinking is THANK GOODNESS this trip was this week and not one week later!
As much as I am tempted to share a billion photos here, I’m writing this from my IPhone and I’m simply not that patient. If you want to see more photos of the trip, check out my Facebook or Instagram!
How far along? 26 weeks
Maternity clothes? For sure! And the weather here is so nice. Loving all the layers and comfy sweaters.
Stretch Marks? No
Sleep? The time change is rough. I’m thankful for the few naps I’ve caught while cruising between cities.
Best moment(s) this week: Obviously, very hard to pick one considering our location. However, in Frankie land, my mom was touching my belly before we left for the airport and I was holding her hand right against my stomach where I thought she was. She kicked mom’s hand so hard that my hand also jumped! It was so fun to see my mom’s reaction and share that first three generation moment.
Miss Anything? Not being front-heavy. I’m feeling it!
Movement: All the time! Rolls and kicks and she apparently REALLY likes sparking wines. Every sip of sparkling wine at the vineyards has woken her up and got her dancing. We’re in trouble!
Food Cravings: Sweets and carbs. Thankful I never got the call that I have gestational diabetes. Woot!!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Pretty much the usual- meat with bones, meat with faces or skin still on.
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: Occasional contraction, but all Braxton Hicks.
Pregnancy Symptoms: Sore/swollen feet, indigestion, hungrier than I have room for in my tummy, front heaviness, some cramping. We really are moving into the “big time”.
Belly Button in or out? In-ish.
Rings on or off? On, blessedly.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! How can one be sad on vacation in Europe??
Looking forward to: A 3D ultrasound next Saturday to see her cute little smooshed face!
