Nine Months
1:39 PM
This crazy, outgoing, loud, funny baby! She absolutely loves to crawl and stand and explore. She's not ready to snuggle until she's good and tired. We are truly having the time of our lives with her, but MAN is she a handful sometimes. The minute you get one dangerous thing out of her hands, she's going for another one! I've become a broken record on here because every month really does get better and better. We've gotten the hang of leaving her with baby sitters. We've gotten to spend more time being Daniel and Sandy and not being consumed with worry. We've overcome some financial hurdles. It was a tough few months at the beginning, but now it just feels like we've reached a great new normal!
Likes:
-Standing. Crawling and sitting is for immature babies. Ya gotta stand!
-Looking at herself and kissing her reflection in the mirror
-Dogs, cats, animals, people, anyone who will pay her attention
-Saying DADA over and over and over and over
-Eating crunchy food
-Stealing food from mom and dad's plates

Dislikes:
-Outfit changes
-Purees when she wants to feed herself
-Waiting to eat for more than 2.5 seconds
-Baby jail (aka pack n play in the living room so she doesn't hurt herself) when she wants to explore

Schedule: We had a BIG change at the end of this month. Daniel got a new job, so Frankie started daycare. We are so grateful to Susu and the rest of the family that helped keep Frankie for the last 8 or so months, but it was time for her to go to school with the big girls! Now I take her to daycare at 7:30, where she gets to eat and play in Ms. Fran's class with three other baby girls. Daniel pick her up in the evenings and we have a little dinner and a bottle before bed. She's eating three-four 6 oz bottles a day with lots of solids in between. Big morning nap, little afternoon nap, if we're lucky. Lots and lots of playtime and exploring in between. Bed at 7 pm and wake up around 6:30 am!
Features: She's still got short brown hair and big beautiful brown eyes. We've got three teeth on the bottom now, but none up top. She's REALLY filling out and starting to get chunky thighs, which makes me so happy. Girl loves to eat! We're busting out of our 6 month clothes and I unpacked the 9 month clothes last week. Size three diapers, around 18 lbs. I'm having more and more trouble picking up her car seat with her in it, so it may be time to start leaving it in my car. She's happy, loud, curious, and athletic!
Milestones: We're not just standing, we're full on cruising. When Frankie started sitting on her own about six weeks ago, Emily told me this was her favorite baby age because "they can sit, but they cant really go anywhere"..... yeah, well, that lasted all of two days for us. Frankie is in EVERYTHING and will stand up and crawl on anything she can. She has no fear.
Firsts:
-Family vacation to Boone, NC to visit our friends, the Powells. We also attended the annual Woolly Worm Festival in Daniel's college town, Banner Elk, NC.
-Day at daycare (yay, Ms. Fran's class!)
Challenges: Other than the logistics of family vacation planning, Daniel starting work, and Frankie starting daycare, there really hasn't been any this month. Frankie sleeps well, eats even better, and is genuinely just stoked on life. We feel very VERY lucky to have such a fun, easygoing member of the family.

Thoughts: I can't believe how proud I am of you and how much I love holding you when I get home from work. Sometimes when you're asleep, I just want to crawl into that crib with you. I love watching you hug dada and laugh when Ham the dog tries to clean you for us. You're the life of our party, baby girl.
