Ten Months
8:36 AM
I look back at the first few months of parenthood, and while they were wonderful, I can't get over how much different things are now. I get to sleep (mostly). I get to eat (although she will be stealing some). She's fun to take out places. Shes really funny and likes to interact with others. Frankie's personality makes us laugh harder and harder every day. She is such a morning person, so adventurous, and SO strong willed. She knows all the right moments to ham it up and, much like her momma, makes it VERY clear when shes hungry or tired.
Likes:
-Cruising, walking using her zebra walker, pulling up on anything
-Stealing all of mom and dad's food
-Still loves all dogs
-Pulling everything out of drawers and cabinets
-Mornings!

Dislikes:
-Outfit changes/wearing clothes at all
-Dirty diapers (which tend to happen the most at night.... ugh)
-Getting put IN the car seat. Once we're in, its fine.
-Not being allowed to play with things that will surely kill her
-Sharing toys with Anastasia (her frienemy at school)

Schedule: We're up at 6-6:30 am and everyone hangs out in mommy and daddy's room while we get ready for the day. Frankie has an 8oz bottle and crawls all over the place while we run around like crazy people. She's off to daycare and we're off to work. At daycare, shes having three bottles a day and usually a big lunch and snack of big kid food... taco bake, ziti, chicken pot pie.... you name it. She also gets a snack or a fruit or veggie in the afternoon. Once we pick her up, we get home and basically shovel more food in her mouth. She is a bottomless pit. Bath/jammies time around 6:45 and then to bed with a bottle at 7. Sometimes, we need a diaper change in the middle of the night, but she goes right back to bed after.
Features: Her hair is lightening, but is still brown. We're slowly moving out of being able to fit her in any 6 months clothing and have had to start unpacking those 12 month clothes. She's in size 3 diapers and weighs 18 lbs 11 oz at her last check up. She's still very smiley, but spends a lot more time concentrating on things now, trying to understand how they work. We've still got three teeth, but she won't let me see if her top teeth have started poking through yet.
Milestones: We're FINALLY saying something... ANYTHING other than Dada. She says Mama when angry, but we make a variety of sounds and like to mimic others now.
Firsts:
-Ear infection/sick day home from school
-Porchfest in our neighborhood
Challenges: Life with a baby that cannot make up her mind! Does she want to play or eat? Be held or explore? The answer is always yes, to everything, all at the same time. Its so much fun, but it can also be exhausting. I love watching her explore and learn, but I do wish she liked to slow down and cuddle with me more. We laugh that Dad is the pillow and I am the jungle gym. Also, with this being our first full month of daycare, I did miss her a lot! But she loves her teacher and classmates and I know we made the right choice.

Thoughts: We've reached the double digits of months and its so surreal. Every morning, when we come get you from your crib, it never gets old to see your big (slightly) toothy grin. I am missing the tiny baby you were, but I can't get over this lovely little girl you are becoming. I hope you always keep giggling, little one!
